The Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) 2017-18 school calendar included three makeup days to address school days missed due to inclement weather.
However, those days will now be used as school days to make up the days missed in September due to Tropical Storm Irma.
With this in mind, GCPS has announced that any additional days missed due to inclement weather this school year will be made up using Digital Learning Days.


When:

If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will have Digital Learning Days.
Teachers will post assignments on their eCLASS pages.
High school assignments will be posted by 8 AM.
Elementary school assignments will be posted by 9 AM.
Middle school assignments will be posted by 10 AM.

Ferguson Elementary teachers will be monitoring their page throughout the day if students or parents have any questions.
You are also welcome to email your child's teacher if you have any trouble.



What:

Students will be completing activities for their homeroom teacher and an assigned special area teacher:

Kindergarten: Art – Mrs. Freeman
1st Grade: Math – Mrs. Cash
2nd Grade: Science – Mrs. Tritt
3rd Grade: eCLASS Tech Special – Mrs. Williams
4th Grade: PE – Mrs. Fowler
5th Grade: Music – Mrs. Hartman

If you have multiple students attending Ferguson Elementary, each student is expected to participate.
This means each student will need to log in to his or her Student Portal/My eCLASS page individually.

 


How Do Students Log In?:
Visit https://publish.gwinnett.k12.ga.us/gcps/home/gcpslogin to access the My eCLASS Student Portal

User ID = student ID number
Password = please contact your teacher if the student is unable to remember their password

While at school, all of our students have accessed their teacher’s eCLASS page.

If your child has trouble accessing his/her teacher’s course page after following the tutorial, please contact your child’s teacher.



Other Details:
Students will use the My eCLASS Student Portal to log in to their eCLASS pages where they will access assignments, resources, and other materials.
If the power is out, a student may access the teacher’s eCLASS page when power returns.
If a student does not have access to a computer or device (tablet, smartphone, etc.), the student can get the assignment once school resumes.
Student work will be expected to be turned in to the teacher (either digitally or in person).
